19 black and white photos from the service of Francis Philip Goodwin during World War II, donated by his family. Focus is U.S. Navy submarines and submarine life. Shown are the launching of USS Sea Dog (SS-401) as well as her commissioning crew and a party celebrating the event. Launching photo is alternately labeled USS Segundo (SS-398), leading to some confusion on identification. Photos of sailors on deck of USS Pilotfish (SS-386) alongside USS Proteus (AS-19) at Yokusuka. Deck guns can be seen, as well as the boat’s dog mascot.
