Collection of photos taken by Ensign Theodore T. Morehead, photographic officer stationed at NAS Honolulu during WWII. The collection consists of posed portraits and casual shots of officers and enlisted sailors stationed at the base during 1944-1945 (most of which are unidentified). Additional imagery consists of general base activities and aircraft. Those individuals who have been identified include: Chester Nimitz, Admiral William Halsey, Admiral David Ingalls, journalist Ernie Pyle, Admiral John Towers, Admiral Robert Ghormley, and Admiral Marc Mitscher. There are several very good images of WAVES and nurses in various capacities (group photos & at work).
