100 page scrapbook containing black and white photographs, donated by Louisa Alger to the Naval Historical Foundation, and later donated to the Naval History and Heritage Command. Photographs concern Montgomery M. Taylor during his command of USS Petrel (PG-2) from 1910-1911, and USS Buffalo (1898-1922) from 1913 to 1915. Shown are scenes in the Caribbean, Alaska, USS Wheeling (PG-14), and construction of US Naval Radio Stations Cordova and Kodiak. Other topics include: rifle range; boat crews; mascots including bear, dog, and deer; baseball team. Album binding has some preservation issues, a number of photos have copy prints for access purposes. Many photos have been assigned NH numbers. Note: see NHF-164 for related materials.
