On 15 & 16 September 1962, the Blue Angels performed at Naval Air Station South Weymouth, Massachusetts. As a civilian artist on invitational orders, the artist was escorted to the airstrip and other areas to make sketches and photograph areas for future reference to create this completed artwork. In this image he witnesses the mechanics giving the airplane a through check.
