Wanaloset

Possibly a variant spelling of Wannalancet.

Wanaloset, sometimes spelled Wanalosett, was a bark-rigged screw sloop-of-war, scheduled to be built at Baltimore, Md., by the firm of Hazelhurst and Wiegard. Although carried on the Navy list of January 1865, the ship's keel was apparently never laid down; and her hull was certainly never built. Her engines, however, were completed; and they were installed in the screw steamer Pensacola. The name Wanaloset was dropped from the Navy list about 1867.
