Pompanoosuc

A village within the town of Norwich in eastern Vermont.

The name Pompanoosuc was assigned to a screw sloop of war laid down at the Boston Navy Yard in 1863. Although she was never launched, she was renamed Connecticut, 15 May 1869. She was broken up while still on the stocks at Boston in 1883.
