Music, a motor boat built in 1888 at Annapolis, Md., by the Chance Marine Construction Co., for the Conservation Commission of Maryland, Baltimore, Md. She was acquired, given the identification number S.P. 1288, and commissioned by the Navy on 17 August 1917.
Assigned to the Fifth Naval District, Music performed patrol and inspection duties in Hampton Roads and on the Elizabeth River during the Great War [World War I]. She was returned to her owner on 24 September 1918 and stricken from the Navy Register simultaneously.
