Marin II (YTB-753)

The second Marin (YTB‑753) was laid down by Christy Corp., of Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., on 15 July 1959; launched on 22 April 1960; and placed in service on 6 June 1960.

Assigned to the 10th Naval District, Marin began tug and towing duties out of Naval Station San Juan, P.R. The vessel assisted other naval ships and craft in Puerto Rican waters, assisting them during berthing and unberthing maneuvers, and towing ships and district craft not under power. In addition, she served as an inner harbor patrol craft, and stood ready to render emergency assistance in the event of natural disasters, such as hurricanes.

Marin was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 21 May 1991, and transferred to the Maritime Administration on 20 October 1994.
