LST-429

LST-429 was laid down on 16 November 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 11 January 1943; and transferred to the United Kingdom and commissioned on 20 February 1943. LST-429 saw no active service in the United States Navy. The tank landing ship was sunk while in Royal Navy service in July 1943. On 24 November 1943, LST-429 was struck from the Navy list.
