Caption: On 15 August 1814, at daylight, the 23 ton American privateer HERALD, John Miller, master, 8 guns and 60 men, found herself under the lee of the British frigates HMS ARMIDE, 36 guns, Captain Sir Edward Thomas Troubridge, and HMS ENDYMION, 40 guns, Captain Hervey Hope, and, after a short chase, was compelled to surrender.
