Caption: Built by Dayton-Wright Airplane Company for the army during World War I and transferred to the navy under bureau number A-3390. Many of these British designed bombers served the navy and marines in France; others were produced or reworked by a number of builders during and after the war and were used as bombers, observation planes, trainers, and utility types into the late 1920's. This photograph was taken at the naval air station, Anacostia, D.C.; the army war college can be seen in the background.
