Title: USS OLEAN (SP-1630)
Caption: OLEAN was built in 1917 by Harlan and Hollingsworth at Wilmington, Delaware. She received a Navy ship number (SP-1630) and may have seen naval service. She was owned at various points by the Vacuum Oil Co., of New York, and Henry Winton, of the same city, under whose ownership the ship was operated by the Union Sulphur Company. When Winton owned her, she was named C.A. SNIDER. Note the interesting camouflage scheme. Photograph taken in 1917-1918.
