Title: Dexter, the last U.S. Navy horse
Caption: Was retired to the U.S Naval home on June 16, 1966. Info from Captain Osborn, 1974. Photo taken June 8, 1967. Dexter died at the Naval home in July 1968, aged 34 years. He had served in the Navy since 1945 as a draft horse at the home. He had been with the Army artillery prior to 1945.
