Caption: Citizens return to the remains of their burned out homes after Viet Cong Rockets struck a mile-wide section of the Vietnames Capital 22 August 1968. Viet Cong Gunners indiscriminately fired a pre-dawn barrage of 20 long-range 122m rockets into the capital after a two month lull. Two of the rockets made direct hits on the roof of the national assembly building in the heart of the city. Most of the 17 dead and scores wounded were women and children.
