Nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) conducts a test of her counter-measure washdown system while operating in the Virginia Capes, February 28, 1997. George Washington had just completed an unprecedented and highly successful six-month Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was conducting post-shipyard sea trials.
