Title: L01-02.03.01 10th Anniversary of Fleet Service

Caption: "10th Anniversary of Fleet Service... Four A-4 Skyhawk carrier-based bombers, one of the mainstays of naval air power in Vietnam, maintain close formation during an operational flight. The Skyhawk, the smallest attack aircraft based aboard the "flat tops," first entered service with the U.S. Navy Sept. 27, 1956. Today, the "Scooter," as the Skyhawk is called by the men who fly it, has been extensively modified to increase its range and payload. It is in service with Navy carrier-based attack squadrons and Marine units ashore. The Skyhawk has a range of over 2,000 miles and is armed with two 20 mm cannon and can be configured to carry bombs, rockets, and missiles."
