Description: Collection of photographs (mostly copies) related to the Byrd Antarctic Expedition 1933 (BAE II). Photos include tractor vehicles used in Byrd’s rescue efforts, Byrd checking position over the South Pole, carrying luggage to base quarters, portraits of both Byrd and Waite, inspections of heat lamps, inspection of radio wires, and base radio operations. Also included is a photo of Amory “Bud” Waite working in the Little America power house. Waite was the electrical officer of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (BAE II) and part of the rescue operations.
