Title: UA 455.12 Gene Reid Collection
Caption: "1963 - after being purchased from the Navy she was being towed south from Brooklyn, NY when her towing vessel, the fisherman Sea King, struck the stone jetty off Barnegat Inlet (NJ) and sank in the surf about 1 mile south of the inlet. The Prescott went high and dry two hundred yards south of the Sea King. Both were saved and still fishing in 1965." 
Description: Three photographs of USS Prescott (PCS 1423) after she was sold to a private business. The photographs date from 1963. The photographs were taken by the donor.
