2018.12 Jo Robinson Collection

Collection of 32 photos related to the naval service of LTJG Dorothy G. Davis as a WAVE during WWII and into the early 1950s. Specific imagery consists of Davis with her class at Oklahoma A&M (1943), group photos of her unit; at mess; with friends at boot camp at Hunter College (1943); assignment at Headquarters, Fifth Naval District and in Quarters “D” in Washington DC (including various buildings). The collection also consists of documents and records related to Davis’ service, including her stationing at Quarters “D”, personnel records; “Pass in Review” magazine; “the Havelock”, 1944-1945; a pamphlet outlining the operations of Quarters “D”; event invitations and cards; “WAVES newsletter”; reunion cards; and a book titled “While so Serving” (a photo book depicting the images of skills and jobs WAVES conducted). Additional documentation relates to general WAVES information such as song books, discharge pamphlets, and insurance pamphlets related to civilian life after naval service.
