Description: Collection of images from RADM John V. Peterson containing aerials of bomb damage done in Manila & Corregidor Island in the Philippines, as well as various cities and islands of Japan (Hiroshima, Wakayama, Kyushu, Osaka, Kobe, Honshu). Also included are photos of the repatriation of American POWs from the Japanese near Taipei, following their surrender. Specific scenes include the prisoners being brought onboard the USS Santee (where Peterson was then Captain) and receiving medical attention. This event took place on approximately September 5, 1945.
