Description: Two photographs of the Commodore John Paul Jones Memorial at Kirkbean, Scotland. The original press release read, "A bronze plaque in memory of the American Revolutionary War naval hero, Commodore John Paul Jones, is unveiled at the cottage whre he was born at Kirkbean, Scotland. The plaque was presented by Vice Admiral Jerauld Wright, USN, Commander in Chief, US Naval Forces, Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. It was received on behalf of the people of Scotland by the Right Honorable, the Earl of Home, Minister of State for Scotland. Honorable Winthrop W. Aldrich, the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James's, made the principal address. The plaque is the gift of the Naval Historical Foundation and the Army-Navy Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, both of Washington, D.C. 31 July 1953"
