Title: USS Norfolk (DL-1) Photo Collection
Description: Collection of 94 photographs related to USS Norfolk (DL-1) during the 1950s to 1960s. Subject matter includes general exteriors views of the ship, ceremonies, VIP visitors aboard ship, social events, dependents cruise, etc. A series of images may be a part of the ship’s assignment to Command Middle East Force as flagship (17 April – 15 October 1968), as there are photographs including Middle Eastern visitors aboard ship. During this mission, she visited both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. There are no captions on any of the photographs and very limited few include dates.
