Description: One photo album containing approximately 175 images related to World War II in the Pacific. Album was donated anonymously to the Naval Historical Foundation in 2018, and subsequently donated to the Naval History and Heritage Command. Note that captions written in photo album appear to have been separately transcribed from captions on back of photos, and include some errors. Photos are duplicated, and many are quite faded. Views include: many scenes of the Philippines, with comparative scenes of Manila before and after the war, Leyte, sunken Japanese ships at Mindanao, and scenes at Samar including Japanese destroyers and shore facilities. Photos of Japanese prisoners of war and war dead. Scenes at Morotai showing facilities, and aircraft boneyard. Japanese midget submarine at Brunei Bay. Scenes on board LST-473, USS Gadsden (AK-182), USS Barracuda (SS-163). Postcards of USS Wolverine (IX-64). Crossing the line ceremony.
