Description: Scrapbook (disassembled for preservation purposes) of images related to the naval service of John B. Nelson, circa WWII, aboard USS Trousdale (AKA-79). Photos include ship exteriors and at sea, officers and crew performing various duties, ship interiors, crew members, crossing the line ceremonies, and buddies/pals. Also included are images of the crew at Guadalcanal, liberty on the island of Ulithi in the Caroline Islands, Japanese ships at Guadalcanal, native peoples and village life, sailors on liberty in unknown Korean city; and beach landings in Okinawa.
