Collection photo # UA 50.02.01 - portrait of Captain William F. Murdy
Collection of photographs related to Captain William F. Murdy, Dental Corps, circa 1920s-1940s. Nearly all images are portraits, but also included is a personnel inspection conducted by Murdy (then LTC) of the dental officers and dental technicians of the Naval Training School, Norfolk, VA, 1941 or 1942, as well as the 1930 postgraduate class of the Naval Dental School in Washington DC (image includes Murdy). Personal (possibly family) photos as well as images obtained while on shore leave in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Peru, Philippines, etc.(this cannot be confirmed, however, as the postcards offer no connection to Murdy), are also included in the collection. Many images taken in China and Hong Kong suggest either Murdy was stationed there or spent time on leave while serving onboard a ship which made port.
