Description: Collection 79 photographs related to LT Moale during his service in the service of the Merchant Marines as an engineer aboard flag ships during the 1920s. Small photo album with 59 photographs of Merchant Marine service of Edward S. Moale as an engineer aboard flag ships during the 1920s. Moale is seen in several of the images. Ships seen include: SS Reliance; USCGC Modoc in drydock at Charleston Navy Yard, SC, 1927; SS Old North State; SS Mount Clinton; SS Resolute; SS Ohioan; MS Californian; SS Steel Ranger; SS Montanan; SS George Washington; SS Julia Luckenbach; and SS Favorite (later IX-45). Locations noted include: London, England; LeHavre, France (docks); Hamburg, German (shipyards); Waldorf, Germany; and the Panama Canal (locks, channels and dredges, Naval Radio Station towers).
