Title: John Larmer Photo Collection
Description: Collection of 47 photographs related to Naval Gun Factory employee John Larmer, 1931-1961. The bulk of the images of consist of machinery and workers in optical shop (shop # 31) at the Naval Gun Factory. Other subjects consist of holiday parties, pieces of glass used in the shop, surrounding factory area (viewing M street and the river), staff members in a group photo, and school visitors. Views in the shop include the lens polishing machine, drafting tables, the etching room, and checking optical quality using testing equipment. Also included is a 1926 group photo of the staff of the optical shop (a date that predates Larmer’s employment at the Gun Factory).
