50 black and white and sepia postcards of events taking place during the donor’s paternal grandfather Michael Kush’s service on board USS Florida (BB-30) and USS Arizona (BB-39) from 1912 to 1920. Scenes at Veracruz, Mexico 1914 including Mexican casualties, sailors ashore, damage to buildings, warships offshore, and funeral procession in New York. US Navy warships underway and in various ports including Constantinople, New York, and Smyrna. Many views of battleships including USS Virginia (BB-13), USS Arizona (BB-39). Other ships include USS Vestal (AR-4), USS Manley (DD-74), and unidentified foreign warships. Gatun Locks of the Panama Canal. Scenes on board a battleship, including inspection, posing with a trophy, games, boxing, washing mess tables, and target practice. World War I including German prisoners at Rheims, France; disabled German tank; man posing with Great War council vote headline.
