Title: Adele Hubbell Photo Collection
Description: Collection of three WWII-era photographs related to Commander John F.P. Miller and USS Medusa (AR-1). During the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, CDR Miller, the ship’s repair officer, took command of USS Medusa while her commanding officer was ashore. The images include Miller shaking hands with an unknown RADM at the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard (possibly following his efforts in firing on a Japanese Type A midget submarine while commanding USS Medusa); as well as two photographs of the ship at sea at unidentified tropical location (perhaps Espiritu Santo, New Guinea, Manila, or Guadalcanal).
