2017.47 Marc England Collection

Collection of 23 b/w photographs from WII. The original owner of the imagery is unknown and there is limited captioning to the photographs. Subject matter includes several shots of buddies & pals both aboard ship (unidentified) and on shore; USS Missouri (BB-63); USS Stockham (DD-683); and several Japanese personnel aboard an unidentified US Navy ship (they may be aboard USS Missouri for the surrender ceremony). There are also several images of what is noted to be USS Detroit (CL-8) taking on oil while alongside USS Missouri (views include a highline transfer between the two ships). USS Detroit was one of two ships present at the signing of the Japanese surrender, so the entire series may be part of the Japanese surrender.
