Description: Collection donated by Marguerite Smith related to the naval career of CDR John Donovan, USNR, with specific coverage of his command of CASU-24 at NAS Wildwood, NJ, circa 1945, as well as commanding officer of CASU-9 in the Philippines (Russell Island, Leyte and Lingayen). Additional imagery consists of journalist Drew Person’s visit to the 6th fleet (with CDR Donovan in photos); F8U-1 Crusader, AD-5W Skyraider, & A-4 Skyhawk taking off and landing on USS Forrestal (CV-59) as well as exterior and interior views of the ship; & a photo booklet of USS Randolph (CV-15). The photos of Donovan at NAS Wildwood include inspections, ceremonies, portraits, buildings, and general activities.
