Title: Hanson W. Baldwin Photo Collection
Description: Collection of several hundred photos and negative contact sheets (original negatives not included in this collection) related to both Mr. Baldwin’s service in the US Navy (including graduation from the Naval Academy in 1924) as well as a military reporter for the New York Times (starting in 1929). The collection is organized chronologically by decade and then by specific topic or event. It is not confirmed that the photos from this collection accompanied stories written by Baldwin for the New York Times. In some cases the photos have been stamped by the US Navy or Marine Corps, while others have no markings other than hand written notes on the back.
