CDR George M. Bache Photo Collection. Collection of two photographs identified as Bache's headquarters at the Newport Navy Yard, Rhode Island. Included is one exterior view of the house with four women and one sailor (possibly Bache) on the front porch, as well as an interior view of a room in the house. These images are part of a larger CDR Bache collection of photographs cataloged at the item level in the NH system (NH 43096-97, NH 53235, NH 56059, NH 56828, NH 59105, NH 61568, & NH 95019-27).

Album of 12 photographs of the launching of USS Bache (DD-470) at the Bethlehem Steel Co. shipyard, Staten Island, NY on July 27, 1942. Images include the ship on the ways; being christened; sliding down ways; and afloat after launch. Technical subjects seen include: fore and aft poppets, showing propeller shaft, and workmen ‘burning off” the fore poppet connector to free the ship for launching.
