Description: Collection of photographs during the service of Admiral George Anderson during his tenure as Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) 1961-1963. Subjects are mainly of ceremonies, speeches, celebrations/parties, and general events. There is a selection of photographs of the Admiral with ambassadors, foreign military personnel and foreign heads of state (no dates), as well as a visit to Vietnam. Key ceremonies and events include the change of command from previous CNO Arleigh Burke to Adm. Anderson, a 1959 tour provided to President Eisenhower of the USS Des Moines, and with President John F. Kennedy. Also included are two folders of newspaper clippings and documents related to Admiral Anderson.
