This print was published in London a month after the battle.  Knowledge of the peace treaty would have been current at the time, but it was not ratified in the U.S. until one day after this print’s publication.  The text notes that President was one of the United States’ largest ships, and its captain, Stephen Decatur, would have been well known to informed members of the public.
