To depict this event, which entailed action in two different parts of the ship during a real life damage control incident—a leak in an engineering space on the destroyer—I felt I should make one composition out of two, in traditional diptych fashion.  The compositions work together as a whole in the painting, just as the two groups of sailors worked together in life during the event.
