AW1 Kelly R. Evinger (Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 1st Class) of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 8 (HS-8) kneels in the doorway of his SH-60F Seahawk, a turbine powered Navy helicopter.  Petty Officer Evinger is an air crewman who operates the aircraft sensors and fires weapons as needed.  AWs also may act as rescue swimmers.  This perspective shows him flying astern of the aircraft carrier while engaged in combat operations as part of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
