Sawyer the Seadog 1

Dog sitting in front of computer
Title: 170919-N-NO147-001
Caption: Washington Navy Yard (Sept. 19, 2017) Sawyer the Seadog poses for a photograph with a blank digital deck log. A Navy ship's deck log is a daily chronology of certain events and is maintained for administrative and legal purposes. Properly completed deck log entries can later serve as key sources for responding to questions from veterans, Congress, scholars, media and the public about general naval history, as well as historic details from specific ships. Sawyer the Seadog is a trained service dog who routinely volunteers with the staff of the National Museum of the U.S. Navy to share the rich history and proud heritage of America's Navy. You can follow Sawyer on his many Navy adventures via Instagram @Sawyer_the_Seadog. (U.S. Navy photo by Karolina Lewandowska/Released)
