Welcome to the US Navy Seabee Museum!

     Welcome!!                                   

The museum is FREE and open to the public. No reservations necessary. Parking is FREE

The US Navy Seabee Museum, located at Naval Base Ventura County, outside the perimeter fence, is easily reached from Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Museum parking is available from Ventura Road without accessing the base. The museum is on the corner of Ventura Road and Sunkist Street, near the Knott Gate entrance.                                                                                                 

Museum  Hours   

The Museum is OPEN Monday thru Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm.

We are CLOSED on Sundays and all national holidays unless otherwise stated.

Events and Tours

If you would like to schedule a special event in museum spaces or your group of 10 or more for a tour (guided or self-guided), please contact the Museum at (805) 982-5877 or email NHHC-SeabeeMuseum@us.navy.mil. Requests should be made at least two weeks in advance and are subject to availability.

The Museum accepts event requests between 11:00 - 15:00, Monday - Saturday and online at NHHC-SeabeeMuseum@us.navy.mil For event requests that occur outside normal operating hours of 10:00 - 16:00, a written letter to the Museum Director will need to be included with your application request. Small groups of less than 10 do not need to make an advance reservation and are welcome to tour during open hours. 

The Bee Fun Zone

The Bee Fun Zone is open daily.

Children may not be left unattended for any period of time in any part of the museum or in the Bee Fun Zone.  Children must be closely supervised and /or accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.  Carrying children on shoulders is prohibited.

Photograph   Policy

The US Navy Seabee Museum encourages you to take photographs and video during your visit. The Museum reserves the right to prohibit flash photography in areas as needed to ensure that fragile objects are protected. Using your camera's flash in crowded areas may disturb others. Please respect your fellow Museum visitors.

Photographers using tripods or similar devices should be respectful of others. On busy days, the Museum may restrict use of such devices to ensure visitor safety and the flow of foot traffic throughout the galleries.

Photography for commercial purposes must be approved through the Museum Director and Naval History and Heritage Command’s Communications and Outreach Department prior to the shoot. The Museum is on federal property under the command of the Naval History and Heritage Command, which inherently means in cannot appear to endorse any company or individual.

Service Animal Policy

The US Navy Seabee Museum is committed to welcoming a wide and diverse audience, including those assisted by trained service animals. The Museum complies with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), which defines service animals as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. The Museum allows service dogs in all public areas of the museum.

The Museum does not allow Emotional Support Animals (ESA) inside the museum. Emotional Support Animals, Comfort Animals, or Therapy Animals do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

If the dog is out of control or not housebroken, the handler will be asked to remove the dog from the museum.

Code of Conduct We look forward to your visit. As you plan your day, we remind you that the US Navy Seabee Museum will not tolerate inappropriate behavior, including, but not limited to, yelling, violence, intimidation, threats, harassment, aggression, swearing, damage, abuse, or sexual harassment. Individuals who are aggressive toward staff or other visitors will be expelled from the Museum and escorted off the property by base police.
