Danube

Danube was built at Bath, Maine, in 1854. She was confiscated in Mobile Bay by the Confederate authorities in May 1861.

In 1863 Danube was anchored at the Apalachee Battery as part of the defense of Mobile. The Confederates ordered her sunk in Mobile Bay in November 1864 in the upper line of obstructions in the Spanish River gap.
