Caption: A salvo of 5-inch shells from USS ORLECK (DD-886) slams into a Vietcong position as a U.S. Army L-19 observation plane swoops low over the target to observe the effect of naval gunfire. The pilot is Army First Lieutenant Peter S. Ossi and the spotter and gunfire liaison officer is Marine First Lieutenant Gerard G. Garwick in this example of Army-Navy cooperation in Vietnam, 18 April 1966.
