Description: Liberty in Tokyo All sailors and other servicemen on liberty find themselves sooner or later at the Imperial Palace grounds. Here a group squint through their camera viewfinders at the most photographed spot in Tokyo. The palace grounds are completely surrounded by a moat for the protection of the emperors; and the grounds used to be known as 'Chiyodo-Jo', or everlasting castle. The building shown in the picture is a fortress along the outer walls. Photograph and caption were released by Commander Naval Forces, Far East, under date of 9 October 1952.
