Caption: Cutaway, Isometric drawing of the World War II emergency standard ship type EC-2, nicknamed the "Liberty." 2,710 Liberty ships were built between 1941 and 1945. 200 were war losses, 50 of them on their maiden voyages. However, 30 years after the war, some of these ships were still sailing, although when built they had a life expectancy of only 5 months.
