Caption: Shown at San Francisco, California with troops aboard about 1943. Ship returned to her owners, N.V. Vereenigde Nederland Maats. After the war and was sold for breaking up in 1959. Note that what appears to be an ice-breaking bow is actually a patented Maier form design for improved speed and fuel use.
