Caption: Photograph by Achille Mauri of Via Roma, Naples, in about 1889-1890 soon after completion. Two of the ship's main battery of four 431mm (17 inch) heavy guns can be seen in the left center of this view. Note that a metal framework for the light shield over the twin gun barbette is in place but that the shield is not yet complete.
