FRIEDRICH CARL (German Battleship, 1867-1906)
Photographed by Arthur Renard at Kiel in a photograph dated 1896. The ship is known to have been fitted with anti-torpedo nets in 1885 and to have been disarmed in 1895, placing the photo in that 10-year time span. The ship served as a torpedo trials and training ship from 1892 to 1905.
