NH 65362-KN Insignia: Mobilization Team 9-4

Insignia: Mobilization Team 9-4
Title: Insignia: Mobilization Team 9-4
Caption: This insignia was adopted in 1963. Its shield is split by a red lightning bolt representing the call to mobilization that separates civilian and military pursuits. The plowshare represents civilian occupations and is inferior to the crossed swords which are "picked up" upon mobilization. The blue background of the shield represents the color of the sea and the sky, separated by the ocean waves. "Paratus potisque," motto of MTD 9-4, is Latin for "Ready and able." A replica of the insignia is to be awarded each fiscal year to the outstanding member of MTD 9-4, and from time to time to others who foster the mission of the unit. Photographed in 1968.
