Caption: In a collision with an unidentified steamer near Brest, France, on April 26, 1918. USS STEWART collided with an unidentified steamer near Brest, France on the night of April 26, 1918, the damage received was described as not too serious, but the ship required drydocking and renewal of frames and plates. This photograph shows the destroyer in drydock at Brest after the damaged structure had been cut away. Final repairs were made by USS PROMETHEUS (AR-3) and were completed on May 28, 1918.
