Title: Gyroscopic automatic pitch and roll recorder.
Caption: This apparatus continuously records the amplitude and period of both the pitch and the roll of the ship. The gyroscope mounted in gimbal rings acts as a base line to hold both pencils still in space. The paper resting upon a frame work firmly attached to the ship, rolls and pitches under these pencils to give an accurate record of all motions of the ship.
