Description: Anthony Tony F. Rieberat age 77 assuming duties as a Junior Licensed Engineer on board USNS General Maurice Rose (T-AP-126) circa mid-1966. He is posing with an engine order telegraph. Rieber was one of many who came out of retirement to fill a shortage of licensed personnel in the Military Sea Transportation Service during the Vietnam War buildup. Rieber probably served on the ship's second Pacific deployment, which began in September 1966.
